Hello everybody (that is, of course, if anybody is reading this)!

Things in Cambodia have been amazing! I wish I could really describe every detail, but we all know how impossible that would be. So… here is a little bit to hold the website over until I return and can post pictures!

• At the beginning of the trip, I had the privilege to use the restroom in four countries over the span of two days. The strangest was the Japanese, the worst experience was the Thai, the westernized-Cambodian was just fine, but of course… I miss the USA toilet, which was my favorite out of all of those.
• The food here– amazing. Seriously! I began to get tired of one of the basic dishes, so I switched things up a bit… experience new things… and it has been great.
• I have taken a 7 hour boat ride sitting on the top of the boat (they ran out of seats inside… so it was like riding on top of a bus instead of inside of it), and got to dodge tree branches and fear for my life for a good portion of that ride. I loved it.
• I rode an elephant!
• I saw the old stone temples of Siem Reap… they reminded me of the Mayan stone temples in Guatemala. They were beautiful, though very touristy. And yes– we did take obligatory “Angelina Jolie-ish” photos at the temple where Tomb Raider was filmed.
• I love the small villages. Everybody has so little, yet they really pour themselves out to provide the best they can for us. I have learned a lot from the residents of small villages.
• I also love the cities (except Siem Reap because it really was full of tourism and not much more–except the temples of course)! Battambang was fun and I got to have my first motorcycle experience. Kampong Chhnang was amazing and I loved the family that we spent the most time with while we were there, and the locals were very fun to be with (I went bike riding and saw monkeys just chilling in a park here). Phnom Penh is the capitol… we have only been here about a day and a half, and the traffic is wild, but I love it as well.
• My least favorite part of the trip have been… crossing the boarder from Thailand into Cambodia. It gave a bad last impression of Thailand and a bad first one of Cambodia. We got passed it though, and then things were good.

So, we have just under a week left. While I miss home, I definitely will miss it here, and it is hard to know that I will be leaving soon.
